The Final Render · Remote post-production
Prepare a video-editing brief that avoids rework
A useful editing brief connects the footage you have to the film and versions you need. Give The Final Render the purpose, audience, service, footage volume, finished length, references, deadline and approval owner. Agree the transfer and review process before sharing source material.

Describe the story and audience
State whether the project is a wedding, property tour, brand film, interview or short-form campaign. Describe the viewer, intended action and reference style. Separate essential moments from optional material.
Inventory footage and creative assets
List camera and audio sources, approximate recording hours, resolution, frame rates and known issues. Identify logos, fonts, approved copy, translations, music and the person responsible for permissions. Arrange technical access separately from the public enquiry.
List every output
Create a delivery list covering finished lengths, horizontal and vertical versions, captions or subtitles, branded and unbranded variants, thumbnails and any agreed project files. A vertical cutdown can require editorial work, rather than only a different export size.
Plan feedback and approval
Name one person to consolidate notes, agree review milestones and specify included revisions. Record the final deadline with date, time and time zone. Identify what happens if footage, feedback or the brief changes after work starts.
Confirm commercial and handover details
Request the quote currency, scope, exclusions, revision terms, transfer method, confidentiality arrangements and retention or deletion expectations. Agree whether the handover is rendered masters only or also includes specified editable material.
Questions before you book
What should we send for a quote?
Share the service, approximate footage volume, desired finished length, reference style, required versions and deadline with its time zone. Identify the camera formats, brand assets and any delivery specifications. Arrange authorised footage access after the initial discussion.
Link to this answerShould we upload private footage into the public enquiry form?
Use the enquiry to describe the work. Arrange an authorised transfer method and access permissions with the team before sharing private footage, credentials or confidential client material.

Use one approval owner, consolidated timecoded notes, clear version names and agreed review rounds. Separate corrections within the brief from a changed creative direction or extra deliverables.
Link to this answerAre turnaround and revisions fixed for every project?
No. Footage condition, synchronization, graphics, sound, grading, versions and feedback rounds affect the work. Confirm the schedule, included revisions, review milestones and rush availability in the written quote.
